550W Bench Belt & Disc Sander

The LX-SM46-550 is a combination bench belt and disc sander designed for woodworking, shaping and general workshop finishing. It combines a 100 × 914mm (4 × 36-inch) sanding belt with a 150mm sanding disc, allowing two different sanding operations to be performed from a single benchtop machine.

A 550W electric motor drives the sanding system, with the belt operating at approximately 7.3m/s for controlled material removal across timber and other compatible materials.

The integrated belt sander uses widely available 100 × 914mm (4 × 36-inch) sanding belts.

Its larger sanding surface is suited to operations such as flattening, smoothing edges, shaping timber and preparing wooden components for subsequent finishing.

The belt assembly on this machine platform can be repositioned between horizontal and vertical orientations, allowing the working position to be adapted according to the shape and size of the component being sanded.

150mm Disc Sander

Alongside the belt, the machine incorporates a 150mm (6-inch) sanding disc with an adjustable work table.

The disc provides a compact sanding surface for edge finishing, shaping smaller components and working on angled ends where the broad belt surface may be less convenient.

Comparable versions of this 550W platform provide a work table adjustable from approximately 0–45°.

Adjustable Work Table for Angled Sanding

The disc-sanding station incorporates an adjustable support table that can be positioned for angled sanding operations.

Where supplied, a mitre guide can be used with the table to help position components consistently when sanding angled or square edges.

7.3m/s Belt Speed

The sanding belt operates at approximately 7.3 metres per second, providing consistent abrasive movement for routine woodworking and workshop sanding.

The combination of belt and disc stations allows the operator to move between broader surface sanding and more controlled edge or end-grain work without using two separate stationary machines.

Bench-Mounted Workshop Design

The LX-SM46-550 is designed as a benchtop sander, providing a stationary sanding platform for workshops, garages and woodworking areas.

The rigid base helps keep the sanding system stable during operation, while the relatively compact footprint allows the machine to be installed alongside other workshop equipment on an appropriate workbench rather than requiring dedicated floor space.
